Borneo Equator Expedition – Too Crazy for Me, So Meet Shannon Bushman

Borneo Equator Expedition

Borneo Equator Expedition

Some people hear about my adventures and call me crazy…  When Fred, my friend and an International Journalist, asked me to participate in an expedition across Borneo not leaving one degree of the equator, I was excited to consider the possibilities especially because it would require a little more from me than normal.  Lets just say I was along for the 15 day trip across the jungle until I heard that all you slept on was a cot with a mosquito net across the top of you.  Yep, bluntly, that was the drawing point for me.  I am certainly not a “hotel” only girl, but I am certainly not a mosquito girl!

So onto find someone else to take my place…meet Shannon Bushman.  There are three people in the UTV world that I would say are up for this challenge, and Shannon was certainly one of them.  I posted the information about the trip up on the website and, well, he bit.  In less than 5 weeks he has gone from learning about Borneo to completely outfitting his Polaris RZRs with everything he could venture to think about needing in the jungle.

Shannon is an amazing writer and an adventurist.  I am excited that he is going on this trip and we are going to feature every step of his experience here at UTV Weekly.

We will track his complete build on the Polaris RZRs, his adventures in traveling, his epic trail ride, and once he come out of the jungles there are sure to be many recaps.  The trail ride actually starts in December, but we are going to start building the unit now.
